Top 5 Social Apps on Android in UAE: Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five social apps on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates showed varied performance trends. Data from Sensor Tower reveals insights into weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok Lite - Save Data, and Facebook Lite.

TikTok experienced significant fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at around $211K in late December 2021 and ending the quarter at approximately $158K. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend, peaking at nearly 58K by the end of March. The app's active user base grew steadily from about 3.6M to 3.7M throughout the quarter.

Instagram had a relatively stable revenue stream with occasional peaks, such as a $40 spike in late March. Weekly downloads increased from about 41K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 35K by the end. The app maintained a consistent active user base, hovering around 1.6M.

Facebook saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, starting at $7.4K in late December and reaching about $6.3K by the end of March. Weekly downloads showed a positive trend, rising from around 20K to 38K. The number of active users was steady, growing slightly from 3.7M to nearly 3.9M.

TikTok Lite - Save Data recorded consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 11K to 20K throughout the quarter. The active user count also showed a steady increase, starting at 151K and reaching approximately 172K by the end of March.

Facebook Lite maintained a stable download rate, increasing from 12K at the beginning of the quarter to about 21K by the end. The app's active user base remained steady, fluctuating slightly around 270K to 280K.
